LATEST UPDATES:
The expanded Weekend Ukrainian Education program is now fully operational for a second year in Warsaw, thanks to UCAP. The classes for the high school graduation National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) for 129 students started in October. In November, new classes for children aged 5-12 began. The classes are full, and there is a particularly high demand for the sessions for children aged 5-6 years, as many are already used to speaking Polish, and it is difficult for them to listen or speak Ukrainian. 120 children ages 5-12 have enrolled, and an additional 34 children are on the waiting list. The school is extremely grateful to UCAP donors for making this opportunity possible. They see strong interest from both children and parents….and the children love it!
In May 2024, UCAP participated in the program’s graduation ceremony in Warsaw, offering a chance to commend the students for their resilience and dedication amidst adversity.
The chart to the left, included in the images, reports the results of the practice exam taken in April 2024. It indicates that most students have improved their test scores since participating in the course.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
With the support of UCAP, the Ukrainian education network “MRIYDIY” has launched an important weekend education program in Warsaw, Poland. Opened in December 2023, the program is helping 120 Ukrainian refugee high school students to prepare for the critical Ukrainian National exam necessary for graduation and eligibility for college education. Topics include Ukrainian language, mathematics, the history of Ukraine, and English.
In addition to serving as a high-quality educational platform, the MRIYDIY education program also helps ensure that these Ukrainian youth preserve their identity and educational opportunities despite being displaced by war.
