LATEST UPDATES:
After much discussion with the hospital director and team about the medical needs and plans, telehealth hardware and software have been identified for the hospital-based system. The telehealth equipment, including server equipment, TVs, laptops, and racks, was delivered in January. The final Poly equipment is expected to arrive in March, allowing training on the new telehealth system to commence.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
A new program sponsored by UCAP, in partnership with Health Tech Without Borders, focuses on state-of-the-art telehealth technologies designed to provide virtual access to pediatric specialists at eastern medical centers in cities like Dnipro. For many families living in remote communities currently under siege from Russian missiles, traveling to these medical centers for in-person evaluation and treatment has become too risky.
Our collaboration with the medical team at Dnipro Children’s Hospital and American telehealth experts is supporting the development of the necessary telehealth system and equipment. Four regional hospitals will connect to Dnipro Children’s Hospital, where pediatric subspecialists will provide care to children throughout the region.
