Families Impacted by Flooding

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

In June 2023, an explosion destroyed the Kakhovka Dam in southern Ukraine, leading to another humanitarian, economic, and public health disaster in the war zone. Thousands of people needed to evacuate, further restricting access to basic resources and services such as food, water, and electricity and increasing the risks of disease outbreaks from contaminated water.

UCAP supported two local hospitals by providing enhanced protective equipment and infection prevention kits for three months, benefiting 420 medical personnel. This support helps protect hospital staff and their families from waterborne diseases and other contaminants as they navigate challenging wartime conditions.
